I studied his face a million times
I can recognize his walk
The uniforms blend them
But I know which is mine
I have waited months
Counted the hours passing
I shake with pride
As he marches on the field
I wait as they speak
Not taking my eyes off him
Knowing at last he is safe
I know his voice
And listen for it
As they let us reunite
I find the tears welling up
I cry from the comfort
Of his arms finally around me again
I know his scent
And I breathe the safety in
I know his hand
And the way mine fit perfectly
I know his kiss
And I kiss him over and over
I know his heart
And I know he know mine
I am drawn to him
Like a moth to a flame
I feel the release of
the stress
The worry that aged me
I finally feel at home
And I just embrace it
The car ride next to him
I know his drive
I know how his favorite radio station
I know the relaxation that hits
I know his growl
The one only I can
hear
Know his head and
every hair upon it
I know eyes and the way they make me sparkle
I know body every curve of it
I know his freckles
I know his side of the bed
And how it is again full
I know peace and love
I know he is mine
I know he is home
I know he is safe
I simply know him
I know his birthday
I know his laugh
I know him as a man and solider
